But whatever you decide to do, just make sure you’re in the right spot when it hits midnight! Bristol is home to some of the best firework displays, so you won’t want to miss out. We’ve narrowed down the best places to see fireworks in Bristol this New Year’s Eve, so you can ring in 2024 in style. The question is – which one will you choose?

Brandon Hill/Cabot Tower

Cabot Tower has one of the best views of the city of Bristol, so you’ll no doubt have a great view of fireworks too! It’s the perfect place to see the city horizon lit up as the clock strikes midnight. Or, you could also take a walk or sit on a bench below the tower at Brandon Hill and watch from there, which will provide a brilliant view as well.

Broom Hill

Lastly, this hasn’t been confirmed yet, but in the past Broom Hill has been a great spot to watch the fireworks and enjoy some food and drink stalls in Bristol. So it’s worth keeping an eye out for tickets in case it’s hosting New Year’s Eve fireworks again.

This requires a bit of planning.  You may have to bring some chairs and blankets for staying out in the cold, but the scenic Bristol parkland remains a great viewing spot for seeing fireworks on New Year’s Eve. It’s peaceful and serene, and a great place to watch firework displays around the city.

Clifton Suspension Bridge

Following on from the last idea, if you’re anywhere near the Clifton Suspension Bridge or simply within view of it, Bristol’s most iconic landmark provides a beautiful background for fireworks. It’s also a great place for photographers, or Instagrammers, who want to capture an iconic shot of the Bristol icon on New Year’s Eve with fireworks in the background.

Dundry Hill

One such Bristol spot which frames the Suspension Bridge in the background of its viewing point for the New Year’s Eve fireworks is Dundry Hill. You can also catch the view of the Severn Bridge and the tower of the Church of St Michael. It’s clear why Dundry Hill provides one of Bristol’s best viewing spots for fireworks, as it captures several landmarks to add to the spectacle.

For something a little further out, Troopers Hill is a nature reserve around three miles from the city overlooking the River Avon. Some of the higher points provide great viewing spots for the fireworks, where you can see quite far! You could make something of a day trip of it by going there earlier to soak up the wildlife, views and walks, and then returning for the fireworks later on.

So those were some of the best places to watch the fireworks in Bristol on New Year’s Eve, but there’s still so much more you can do in Bristol to celebrate the New Year! So, if you’d like to find out about other great New Year’s Eve events in Bristol, click here.
