The Paul Popham Running Club in Swansea is perfect if you’re just starting out, as they welcome people of all abilities. This is a great club to join if you have a goal in mind, as they will help you reach this goal and then go beyond it. They offer an 8 week programme for beginners, and once you complete this, you can be moved into a higher group. With over 200 members, it’s a really social running club, and they host a variety of events throughout the year that you can take part in! 2. Tri Hard Harriers

If you’re a bit more of an experienced runner, then the Tri Hard Harriers are for you. They ask for people to join only if they can comfortably run 5K, so the people you will be running with will be on a similar level to you. It’s definitely one of the smaller running clubs in Swansea, and they organise socials for people to get together outside of running. They train twice a week on Thursday and Sunday around Swansea city, so if you’re looking for a more intimate running club to join where you can really get to know others, check this one out!
3. 3M Gorseinon Road Runners

The 3M Gorseinon Road Runners is another big running club in Swansea, with around 160 members! They welcome all ages and abilities, so it’s perfect if you’re just starting out. This club meets every Wednesday evening and start running at 6:30, but host other running events and socials as well. They sometimes run along the beach front, which has the best view for any evening run.
4. Swansea Harriers Athletic Club

If you want to get seriously into your running, then Swansea Harriers Athletic Club is the running club in the city for you. It has been around since 1962, so they know what they’re doing. They’ve received a huge amount of recognition, and were voted ‘Uk Athletics Club of the Year’ in both 2009 and 2014. This club is mainly for people who want to compete in races and such, so if this is what you want to get into then this is the best club for it. Membership is £40 for the year and £35 if you’re under 19. Different training sessions are available throughout the week depending on ability, so there are options when it comes to running levels and timetables!
5. Celtic Tri

However this is because many of the members are triathlon athletes, so they offer training in swimming and cycling as well. Anyone of any ability can join, and they offer both training sessions and social runs as well. If you want to get into something more competitive, they also have two cross country teams and participate in a couple of races throughout the year as well. An adult membership is only £20 for the year, which is pretty affordable for 12 months!
