Series 28 of Gogglebox landed on Channel 4 on 4 September 2026, and it’s arguably the show’s best run in years. New households Sandy and Max and Newcastle brothers Steve and Mark have slotted straight in, while Jude and Sherry joined mid-series. The show also picked up another National Television Award in September.

But here’s the thing about Gogglebox: unlike most reality TV, the cast are mostly just normal people with normal jobs. Channel 4 has never published what it pays them, and cast members have said the fee isn’t enough to quit the day job. So who on the sofa is actually rich?

Quick disclaimer: these are Unifresher’s own estimates, based on reported earnings, TV and brand deals, business records at Companies House and what’s publicly known about property. They’re educated guesses, not bank statements. Because these are households rather than individual celebrities, we’ve estimated each sofa as a unit, and much of it comes down to property and day jobs rather than TV money.

The top tier: properly comfortable

1. Giles Wood and Mary Killen – £2.5 million

The Wiltshire duo are the closest thing Gogglebox has to aristocracy. Mary has written The Spectator’s “Dear Mary” etiquette column for decades and has a shelf of books to her name, while Giles is a landscape painter with a list of well-known private clients. Add their joint books and a podcast for The Oldie, plus their country home, and we estimate around £2.5 million.

2. Simon and Jane Minty – £1.2 million

Simon’s finances are among the best documented on the show. Companies House lists him as a director of his own disability consultancy, Sminty Ltd, a board member at Motability Operations Group and a board director of the National Theatre. He also co-founded comedy group Abnormally Funny People and co-hosts podcasts. We estimate the London household at around £1.2 million.

3. The Siddiquis – £1 million

Gogglebox royalty, having been on since the very first series in 2013. Sid is a retired engineer, Umar is a biomedical scientist at Royal Derby Hospital and Baasit is a teacher. Three solid careers, more than a decade of Gogglebox fees and family property in Derby put the household at around £1 million on our estimate.

The comfortably-off middle

4. Jenny and Lee – £700,000

Jenny is a former pub landlady in East Yorkshire, and the pair famously film in Lee’s static caravan at Patrington Haven. Lee also has a home in Cyprus with his partner Steve. Twelve years on the show and two properties to Lee’s name put them at around £700,000, which makes the caravan the most valuable seat in the house.

5. Pete and Sophie Sandiford – £500,000

The Sandiford siblings both have proper jobs: Pete runs a roofing business and Sophie is a florist who used to dress shop windows. Pete has said he can’t give up the day job because the mortgage won’t pay itself, which tells you plenty about Gogglebox pay. We estimate the pair at around £500,000 combined.

6. The Malones – £500,000

The Stretford family have been on since 2014. Tom Sr is a lorry driver, Julie a receptionist, Vanessa an NHS nurse and Shaun coaches Manchester United’s mixed-ability teams. Tom Malone Jr has left the sofa to pursue TV work, so he doesn’t count here. We estimate the household at around £500,000, most of it in property.

Rich in banter, if not in bank balance

7. Ellie and Izzi Warner – £400,000

The Leeds sisters have been on since 2015. Ellie is a hairdresser, while Izzi swapped nail art for a career as a qualified mortgage adviser, which is a handy skill when most of your wealth is bricks and mortar. We estimate the pair at around £400,000 between them.

8. Sue and Steve Sheehan – £400,000

The south London couple have been on since 2019. Steve is a black-cab driver (and you’d better believe he knows the quickest route to the sofa), while Sue is semi-retired. Their wealth is mostly a London home and years of hard graft. We estimate around £400,000.

9. Dave and Shirley Griffiths – £350,000

Dave and Shirley are about as down to earth as Gogglebox gets. Shirley works in retail and Dave has worked as a factory worker and cleaner, and they’ve been on the show since 2015. With no books, spin-offs or companies to speak of, we estimate around £350,000, mostly their home.

10. The Plummers – £300,000

Bristol brothers Tremaine, Twaine and Tristan joined in 2016. Tremaine is a chef, Twaine has worked in radio, and Tristan came through Bristol City’s youth set-up and still plays non-league football. Split three ways, we estimate the household at around £300,000.

11. Abbie and Georgia – £250,000

The Durham best friends have been on since 2018. Abbie works in credit control and Georgia is a former hairdresser who stepped back after becoming a mum. They’re younger than most of the cast, which means less time to build up property. We estimate around £250,000 between them.

The mystery fortunes

Some of the sofas keep their day jobs (and finances) firmly off camera, so we haven’t put a figure on them.

The Worthingtons have been on since 2017, and Helena is an artist based in Salford, but Alison and George’s jobs have never been made public.

Ronnie and Annie have kept their careers completely private since joining in 2021.

Amira and Amani are a retail manager and a customer service worker, which isn’t enough to build a sensible estimate on.

Sandy and Max, Steve and Mark, and Jude and Sherry only joined in series 28, so it’s too early to say.
