It isn’t exactly the typical escape room experience, but if you’re a thrill-seeker, this will be a great option for you. Over a 90-minute period, you and your teammates will work together to solve the clues travelling from Finland to Costa Rica to the tombs to battle it out to save the day. Tickets vary depending on the date/time you choose but are somewhere in the range of £30-50 per person.

3. Sherlock: The Game Is Now

Sherlock: The Game Is Now, has a number of different themed escape rooms, all to do with the hit TV show. You can purchase a shared (2-3 players, £35 per person with a student discount) or a private (4-6 players, £40 per person with a student discount) escape room experience. You can work your way through the game featuring exclusive content from the TV show’s cast and a fully themed bar. Or, you can try out the brand new Mind of Moriarty room. There, you’ll enter the mind of Moriarty and work to take down the ‘Napoleon of Crime’ from the inside.

4. Prison Van Escape Room

This one is definitely one of the more high-stakes, adrenaline-inducing options on this list. For 60 minutes, you’re transported into a prison van and you must work together with your fellow convicts to escape the prison van. Tickets are £60 for two people and you’ll be working in groups of eight. Located in the heart of Greenwich, just on the river Thames, it’s one of the many great escape rooms in London that are south of the river. South Londoners, you get me on that one.

5. Mission: Breakout

 

Mission: Breakout is housed in a unique and atmospheric location: the disused South Kentish Town tube station. The station was opened in 1907 but was closed to the public in 1924 due to low passenger numbers. Over the years, the disused station has become a place that’s quite eerie and mysterious, so it’s a great place to host an escape game.  One of their most popular games is “The Lost Passenger”, which is based on a true urban legend of a passenger who allegedly disappeared in the station in 1924. Players have to decipher a series of codes and puzzles to unravel the mystery.

Escape Land is situated near the famous Oxford Street in London. The two main rooms are the Throne Room, which includes upgraded puzzlers from the previous Professor Oxford’s Experiments, and Da Vinci’s Exploration. As the name suggests, the Da Vinci escape room takes inspiration from the life and works of the great Renaissance polymath, Leonardo da Vinci. The puzzles draw on his inventions and artworks, which is quite different from other escape rooms in London and elsewhere.
