City Campus Flats (Belmont Flats)
The university's City Campus Flats page describes Belmont Flats, right on the main campus with 765 rooms. Standard flats have six people and 13 square metre rooms, while premier flats have five people and 15 square metres. The £7 weekly premium for premier looks fair, though there are only 60 of those rooms.
Worth knowing: It is the priciest university option, and you can only get weekend parking permits.

West Park Villas
West Park Villas is the cheapest University of Dundee option at £6,999.72 for the year, and every room still has its own en-suite. Up to ten people share each villa kitchen, and residents get free cinema nights in the common room. It sits between City Campus and Ninewells, which helps if you split your time between the two.
Worth knowing: Ten people share one kitchen, and City Campus is a 23-minute walk.

Standard en-suites start at £150, and bills and Wi-Fi up to 100Mbps are included. Roseangle is also close to the University of Dundee, so the low price does not mean a long walk.

Keiller Court is set up in small flats of three to five, with two bathrooms a flat rather than en-suites. Every kitchen has a washer-dryer and dishwasher, which is a real saving in time and laundry money. Being within 10 minutes of both universities makes it one of the easier shared choices in the city.
Worth knowing: Mezzino gives no standard contract length, so check the total rent.

The Hub
The Hub is about as close to the University of Dundee as private accommodation gets, and its 507 en-suites start at £151 on a 50-week contract. The 40-week contract costs £167 a week, which gives the lower total. Zero deposit and a 24-hour common room with pool and table tennis help too.
Worth knowing: The 12 square metre standard room is small, and laundry is paid separately through an app.

Worth knowing: Mezzino lists a November 2026 opening, while Abertay's page says September, so confirm your start date.

The maximum loan for a student in England living away from home outside London is £10,830 for 2026/27. Most students get less, because it is means-tested. Here is how the cheapest and dearest contracts on this page compare with that maximum.
Peterson Hall: £5,100 over 51 weeks leaves £5,730 for everything else.
Discovery Studios: £11,220 over 51 weeks is £390 more than the loan.
For 2026/27, SAAS lists maximum support of £11,400 for young students with household income under £21,000 (a £2,000 bursary plus a £9,400 loan), falling to £8,400 at £34,000 and above, for students ordinarily resident in Scotland.

City Campus and Hawkhill
The closest area for University of Dundee students, including City Campus Flats and The Hub. Shops and the Students' Union are minutes away.
Worth knowing: Student parking is very limited at City Campus Flats.
Seabraes and Roseangle
A short walk from City Campus, with Seabraes and Peterson Hall offering a slightly lower rent than on-campus flats.
West End and Perth Road
Halfway between City Campus and Ninewells, so it suits students splitting time between the two. West Park is the cheapest university site.
Worth knowing: City Campus is about a 23-minute walk from West Park Villas.
Near Abertay and the city centre
Parker Street, Brown Street and West Bell Street put you within 1 to 10 minutes of Abertay, and they suit city-centre fans too.
Worth knowing: Most of these halls are private, so you contract directly with the operator.

Are first years guaranteed a room in Dundee?
At the University of Dundee, yes: new full-time students in their first year get one guaranteed offer of single accommodation if they apply by that year's deadline, though not necessarily their preferred flat. Abertay says it does not guarantee a room, so its students should book as soon as bookings open in early spring.
Does Dundee have catered student accommodation?
We did not find a catered hall in Dundee. University of Dundee flats have shared kitchens, and the private halls in this guide offer shared kitchens or studio kitchenettes. Kitchen equipment varies: Keiller Court includes a dishwasher and washer-dryer, while University of Dundee residents bring their own cookware, crockery and cleaning supplies.
When should I apply for Dundee student accommodation?

Yes. Telephone House on West Bell Street is 10 minutes' walk from the city centre, and Keiller Court is about 15. City Campus Flats is about 10 minutes from city centre shops as well. Parklands and Stanley Studios on Brown Street are within 10 minutes of the University of Dundee and Abertay.
How much student funding do Scottish students get for rent?
If you live in Scotland, SAAS rather than Student Finance England funds you.
