Going out is one of the most exciting parts of the student experience for many people, and Bristol is a city with some of the best student club nights around. The music scene is thriving, and whether you are a fan of pop, indie or techno, there will be something to fit your tastes in this lively city. Here is a list of a few great student nights in Bristol.
1. Thekla – Pop Confessional
This water-bound club has been a student favourite for a very long time, and it has some great club nights, from Thekla Thursdays to their Pop Confessionals. The Pop Confessional nights, in particular, are very well-liked and are advertised as playing ‘guilty pleasure’ pop jams on Saturday nights. So, if you are a diehard pop fan, or want to relive some of those year six school disco memories, Thekla’s Pop Confessional nights are well worth attending.
2. OMG – Poundemonium
OMG is Bristol’s largest lesbian and gay club venue, and every Wednesday and Thursday the club hosts their Poundemonium nights. Their drink offers are insane. Shots from £2! Who could say no? You could also head down on a Tuesday for their student night Candyshop, which is free entry. The venue itself is awesome and guarantees an electric night out.
3. Lola Lo – Killa Disco
For those who enjoy a tropical aesthetic, with its tiki décor and floral undertones, Lola Lo is a perfect location for a perfect night out. Every Friday, it’s 50% off all drinks before midnight! The music is pretty great as well, with the resident DJ working all night.
4. The Fleece – Propaganda
For any rock and indie fans, going to the Fleece on Saturday nights is a brilliant idea, as this is when the venue hosts Propaganda. During Propaganda, you are free to party until 4 am, and entry is discounted for students until 12am. The deals on drinks are pretty decent, but the real pull factor of The Fleece on Propaganda night is the quality of the music.
5. The Lanes – Fat Lip
Fat Lip is another Saturday club night and usually happens monthly at The Lanes. Music ranges from classic party to alternative indie, and the venue has its own outdoor terrace for added ambience.
6. Electric Bristol
This club meets music venue is the place to go if you’re craving a good night out in Bristol. On the 26th of September, head to their “Brooklyn Zoo: Freshers Hip Hop & Rap Rave”. If UK Rap, Trap, Afrobeats, and Dancehall is your vibe, this party isn’t one to miss!
There’s a student night for everyone in Bristol. Grab your friends, your club essentials, and make the most of your student city.
