Heartstopper started life as Alice Oseman’s webcomic about two boys at a Kent grammar school falling for each other, and turned into one of Netflix’s most-loved British shows. Three series between 2022 and 2024 made Kit Connor and Joe Locke household names, and gave a generation of teenagers the warm, leaf-swirling queer romance a lot of us wish we’d had.

The story wrapped up for good with the finale film Heartstopper Forever, which landed on Netflix on 17 July 2026 and adapts the sixth and final graphic novel (Netflix’s own Tudum guide has the details). Most of the original gang came back for it, and Oseman wrote the screenplay herself, so it really does feel like a proper goodbye rather than a cash-in. With the leaves officially settled, it’s a good moment to ask the less romantic question: who came out of Truham and Higgs the richest?

Before we start: these are Unifresher’s own estimates, based on reported earnings, book sales, roles and public business records. They’re informed guesses, not bank statements, and Netflix doesn’t publish what it pays its cast.

The top tier: genuinely loaded

1. Olivia Colman – £15 million

Nick’s mum, Sarah Nelson, just happens to be an Oscar winner. Colman won Best Actress for The Favourite, played the Queen in The Crown, and has a CV running from Peep Show and Broadchurch to Fleabag, Paddington and Wonka. Next up she’s Mrs Bennet in Netflix’s Pride and Prejudice (see our Pride and Prejudice cast rich list). We estimate around £15 million.

2. Alice Oseman – £6 million

The woman who made all of this. Oseman created Heartstopper as a webcomic, turned it into six bestselling graphic novels, wrote every episode of the series and the screenplay for Heartstopper Forever, and has published novels including Solitaire, Radio Silence and Loveless. Nielsen figures reported in 2023 put her UK sales at more than £11.5 million at the till. We estimate around £6 million.

The comfortably minted middle

3. Kit Connor – £4 million

Connor was a working actor long before Nick Nelson, playing young Elton John in Rocketman. Since Heartstopper he’s voiced Brightbill in The Wild Robot, starred in A24’s war film Warfare and made his Broadway debut opposite Rachel Zegler in Romeo + Juliet. That’s a seriously grown-up career. We estimate around £4 million.

4. Joe Locke – £3 million

Locke went from his first ever professional role as Charlie Spring to the Marvel universe, playing Teen in Disney+ series Agatha All Along, and then to Broadway as Tobias in Sweeney Todd. Not a bad few years for someone who found the part through an open casting call. We estimate he’s worth around £3 million.

5. Sebastian Croft – £2 million

Croft played Ben Hope, Charlie’s not-boyfriend and the closest thing Heartstopper has to a villain. He was also young Ned Stark in Game of Thrones and, more recently, a contestant on The Celebrity Traitors, where we put him at around £2 million in our Celebrity Traitors rich list. We’re sticking with that.

6. Yasmin Finney – £1.5 million

Elle Argent was one of the show’s breakout characters, and Finney’s career took off with it. She joined Doctor Who as Rose Noble in the 60th anniversary specials and has become a prominent voice for trans young people. With Heartstopper Forever on top, we estimate she’s worth around £1.5 million.

The rising stars

Netflix money for an ensemble cast in their early twenties is solid rather than spectacular, so this lot are still building. Give it a few years.

7. William Gao – £750,000

Tao Xu, film buff and fiercely loyal best friend, got some of the series’ funniest lines, usually delivered with total conviction. Gao was in every series and the film, and Tao’s slow-burn romance with Elle was a fan favourite from the very first episode. Being one of the core six for five years puts him a notch above the rest of this tier. We estimate around £750,000.

8. Corinna Brown – £500,000

As Tara Jones, one half of Tara and Darcy, Brown gave the show some of its most tender storylines across three series and the film, including the couple’s big romantic moments that fans still clip and share. Like most of this tier, she’s at the start of what should be a long career. We estimate around £500,000.

9. Tobie Donovan – £500,000

Isaac Henderson, the quiet bookworm whose asexual storyline won Heartstopper a lot of praise, is played by Donovan. He’s been in every series and the film, and Isaac’s quiet arc became one of the most meaningful parts of the show for a lot of viewers. We estimate around £500,000.

10. Kizzy Edgell – £500,000

Edgell plays Darcy Olsson, Tara’s girlfriend and Truham’s least shy person. A storyline about Darcy’s gender identity in series three was one of the show’s most talked-about, and Edgell handled it with real care. Expect plenty more roles to follow. We estimate around £500,000.

11. Rhea Norwood – £500,000

Imogen Heaney arrived as the mate who couldn’t take a hint about Ben and left as one of the gang. Norwood has been part of Heartstopper since series one, and Imogen’s cheerful chaos is a big part of the friendship group’s charm. We estimate around £500,000.

12. Jenny Walser – £500,000

Tori Spring, Charlie’s dry, deadpan older sister, is one of the most beloved characters in the whole Oseman universe, and Walser nails the look of permanent unimpressedness. Tori even has her own Oseman novel, Solitaire, so the character isn’t going anywhere. We estimate around £500,000.
