Although we all love a date night, it can be pretty difficult to have a romantic night without spending loads of money. Bunkers is the perfect place for cheap date nights in Swansea. Two games of crazy golf only cost £12.50, which isn’t that expensive considering it can last a while. 2. Head to a board game cafe
Board game cafes are the perfect place for chill date nights, and in Swansea, we have two!. These are Social Dice and Common Meeple. Both places cost around the same, and both have a huge selection of board games to choose from! It costs around £3 per hour per person for a table, so you could only end up spending around £6 altogether. It’s fun, cheap, and a great way to spend some time with someone.
3. Go for a (cheap) meal
Although meals out can be expensive, we have loads of choice in Swansea for reasonably priced meals. If you’re looking for chains, we have TGI Friday’s, Wagamamas, Nando’s, and Las Iguanas, which all have around similar price ranges. We also have a bunch of independent restaurants as well, such as Muswanna, Truffle, Adelina’s, and The Secret Bar and Kitchen. Just make sure to book in advance because these places can get busy!
4. Go bowling
Bowling is a classic cheap date idea, so of course it’s made our list. In Swansea, we have Superbowl and Tenpin, which are both pretty close next to each other. Anyway, bowling is a great date to get your competitive side out, and it’s also pretty cheap. What’s not to love?
5. Enjoy a movie night
Another classic date idea, but it’s still a good one. Swansea has a Vue and an Odeon cinema, so you can pick whichever one you prefer! Both are in the city centre, and so are really easy to get to, no matter where in Swansea you live. 6. Go for a late night walk on the beach
A walk on the beach is perfect for cheap date nights in Swansea, because it’s free! Swansea beach has a stunning view, and what’s more romantic than going for a late night walk on the beach? If you want to spend a little money, you could always turn it into a picnic or a fire on the beach! Whatever you do, it’s chill and inexpensive, and has the most amazing view.
7. Indulge in ice cream at Joe’s
Who doesn’t love ice cream? Joe’s sells the best ice-cream in Swansea, and although it’s a bit more expensive than some ice cream parlours, it’s definitely worth it. You can sit inside and have a chat, or have your ice cream to go on the beach! Their sundaes are to die for, so you’ll definitely enjoy your date if you decide to come here!
8. Compete at the arcade
The best thing about arcades is that you never end up spending lots of money! The machines are usually only a couple of pounds at a time (or even less), so you never end up spending your whole student loan. Although those claw machines can be addictive, it’s the perfect place to do something fun and cheap!
9. Go to a live music venue
In Swansea, we have loads of live music venues, which is a perfect cheap date night if you’re into that sort of thing. There’s The Bunkhouse, Hangar 18, Sin City, and so many more. 10. Watch the sunset
So maybe we saved the best till last, because the sunset is one of the favourite things in Swansea. If you want to watch the sunset go across the whole bay, then you should definitely climb up Kilvey Hill, or go to Rosehill quarry. But if you want to see the sunset from the beach, then Bracelet Bay is probably the best place to go. It’s romantic, cheap, and so beautiful to watch.
