JD Gyms

JD Gym has a gym on Greyhound Retail Park, Sealand Road in Chester. It has a student offer where you can get your first month with them for only £5, with no joining fee. After that, it’s £26.99 a month for a standard membership with 24/7 access.
If you want a Plus+ membership, it’s £34.99 a month, with 24/7 access, 10% JD Sports Online discount, and access to 90+ gyms.

gymCHESTER

gymCHESTER is an easily accessible site for many Chester students, as it is located on the Exton Park campus, making it quite central to a good majority of students. The Exton site offers over 100 pieces of equipment, including cardio machines, free weights, a spin studio, and a swimming pool.
There is a student membership option with three different methods of paying. It’s £125 for an academic year student membership (Gym and pool included), or £15 monthly. You can also pay as you go, at £5 per use of the gym. If you only want to use the swimming pool, there is a membership just for that. It’s £60 for 12 months, or £5 on the pay-as-you-go option.
For those on the Queens Park and the University Centre Birkenhead Marriss House sites, there are Active Zones that don’t require memberships.
Plus, several exercise/fitness classes are available for free.

TotalFitness

Total Fitness on Liverpool Road has much to offer when looking for a gym.
They have three pools, a large gym floor, a sauna, a hydropool, a women-only workout space, and squash courts, to name a few.
They also offer a 10% student discount.
Membership with the discount is £46 a month, but they do have a £25 joining fee.

PureGym

PureGym in Chester’s Deva Retail Park offers a 24/7, no-contract membership.
Membership options start at £15.99 for an off-peak membership, with limited hours. A core membership with 24/7 access is £22.99. There is a £10 joining fee.
While these prices may not be the cheapest, university students can get up to 30% off of their first 6 months (prices vary depending on which membership you choose) and no joining fee. To claim this discount, log in to UniDays and claim the discount through there.

Nuffield Health

Nuffield Health on Wrexham Road has a good gym that is available for use.
They offer not only a gym and gym equipment, but also a swimming pool and a sauna.
An anytime membership offers access anytime during their opening hours, member discounts, and access to the gym, swimming pool and spa. Whereas the off-peak membership offers the same, just with access during off-peak hours.
Off-peak membership is £63 a month, or the Anytime membership is £74. However, students get a 15% discount, meaning that the Anytime membership is discounted to £63 per month. To access the discount, log in through UniDays.

The Gym Group

The Gym Group is located on Victoria Road. As you’re walking out of the centre of Chester towards Exton Park, you’ll be able to easily spot it.
The Gym Group has a £10 joining fee, and then there are different membership bands. It’s £269 for a 12-month membership, or £139 for 6 months. Otherwise, you can pay £16.99 per month for access to the gym.
Often, The Gym Group has discounts listed on its site for extra offers and discounts such as 50% off your first month with no joining fee, or 20% off of a 12-month saver for students.

BrioNorthgate

BrioNorthgate on Victoria Road has plenty to offer for the perfect workout. With a gym, a pool, a sports hall, a dance studio, and a variety of classes, BrioNorthgate is a great option for those who want a bit of everything.
Their off-peak membership is £270, giving you use of all BrioLeisure gyms, access to the pool and the sauna etc. The annual membership gives you two months free.
The off-peak costs £27 per month.
