Overview

Is the University of Chester right for you?

The University of Chester is a mid-sized university in one of England's most historic cities. Its main campus, Exton Park, is a 10-minute walk from the Roman walls, the Rows and the city centre, and other teaching sites are dotted around town. Founded in 1839, it's one of the oldest higher education institutions in England.

Chester suits students who want a safe, walkable, friendly city rather than a big-city scene. Halls are affordable compared with many places, starting at about £113 a week, and most are on or near campus. Nightlife is smaller-scale, though Liverpool and Manchester are close by train.

A £250 deposit secures your room and comes off your final rent instalment. Self-catered contracts are about 40 weeks and full board 38 weeks.
