On Craighall Road in Leith is a new boxing gym, Port O’Leith Boxing Club. Their boxing and fitness classes run seven days a week, with multiple classes and courses to choose from! Whether you are a first-time puncher or a have been sparring for ages, Port O’Leith Boxing Club is the place to go!

They even run a class called Post-Natal Punchers, for post-natal mums, which has a childcare feature built into the schedule. An adult membership costs £70.00 per month or £780.00 per year. And if you have never boxed before, they run a four-week introductory course into boxing!

Additionally, head to Craigmillar for one-on-one boxing classes at Daniel Juma-Phiri’s Boxing Academy! They run beginners’ classes, ladies only classes and additionally offer training packages to elite level boxers. Membership runs on a bronze, silver and gold membership schemes, whereby bronze membership costs £8.00 per class with one class per week. However, for those who are truly dedicated, the gold membership costs a total of £104.99 per month, with unlimited classes per month. It might be one of the pricier boxing centres in Edinburgh, but it’s definitely one of the best.

Hanuman Thai Boxing

For a different kind of boxing, try out Hanuman Thai Boxing centre! With training from martial arts and fitness to basic self-defence, Hanuman Thai Boxing provides a safe environment for its members. A day pass to the gym is only £15.00, although if you are looking for a more dedicated regime a full membership will cost you £70.00 per month. This provides you access to unlimited classes and also works out at £4.38 per class if you attend four per week for the month.

Combat Solutions

Combat Solutions is a vastly expanding kickboxing and combat-inspired centre on Chalmers Street. Always listening to the requests of customers, they are expanding to include yoga classes and street self-defence, on top of their popular kickboxing classes! Your first class is free at Combat Solutions and with classes six days a week, this a great place to kick off some steam!
