Next time you want to go out for a meal, why not treat yourself to brunch? It’s the only meal that’s acceptable to drink lots with, and there are so many places offering it in Newcastle, so here are all the best places to go for bottomless brunch!

I will, of course, preface this with a message to please drink responsibly. That said, here are some of the best places to get drunk before 5pm and it be socially acceptable.

1. Turtle Bay

A classic bottomless brunch menu. A perfect amount of spice and a healthy dose of alcohol. Visiting their page, you’ll also see that on weekends their brunch includes live performances of reggae bands and acoustic sets. My favourite has to be the folded breakfast roti with spicy sausage and eggs. Order some passion fruit mojitos for that perfect combo of spicy food and a sweet, cool cocktail.

Twenty Twenty

Twenty Twenty does things slightly differently. Split 20″ pizzas between your party, with at least two New-York sized slices guaranteed per person. Toss in bottomless mimosas and frozen daiquiris, and your friends will be very happy with you! With a max group size of 32, that sure beats a Dominoes…

Moku

Hawaiian fried chicken with a frozen berry daiquiri? Sign me up. I recommend this spot for vegans and vegetarians in particular, with jackfruit at the front and centre of poke bowls, tacos, and fried in Hawaiian batter.

Manahatta

Their ‘Breakfast Behaviour’ speaks for itself. I mean, take a look and tell me your mouth isn’t watering:

BREAKFAST BEHAVIOUR – Brunching like it’s nobody’s business.

Crispy bacon, free range fried egg, whipped ricotta cheese, smoked chilli jam, watercress and salsa verde. Served in a warm focaccia roll with mini hash browns.

Pair those hash browns and chilli jam with an orchard apple spritz or a glass of Prosecco, and it’s a party!

Las Iguanas

Classic cocktails await. Settle in for all the sex on the beaches, woo woos, mango collins, moscow mules, and long island iced teas you can drink. Menu highlights include their katsu curry and mac ‘n cheese. Pasta and cocktails together sounds like most of my dreams…

(Psst, you get a £5 discount when you sign up for emails)

The Mad House

The Mad House is known for its ‘Council Tapas’ bottomless brunch. For all beige food lovers, this is a necessary pit stop. Each venue has its own cocktail list, with Pink Lane’s highlight definitely being the ‘Pink Peony Club’, made with gin, limoncello, vanilla, rose, lemon, and cranberry. Dean Street’s standout is, of course, the ‘If You Like Piña Coladas’, which is, of course, a smashing Piña Colada. If you’ve ever felt personally victimised by Jamie Oliver, this menu is a must-eat…

Mojo

Keeping things classy again with bottomless mimosas, I’d absolutely go for the bacon or chicken waffles. The dry Prosecco in the mimosas combined with the sweetness of the sticky syrup and crunchy topping is the perfect start to a great hangout.

Banyan

Banyan offers three different kinds of bottomless brunch, so there’s something for any time of day:

Bottomless Sunday Roasts

Imagine a carvery. Imagine 2 hours of unlimited Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, and gravy.

Then imagine a poached pear spritz. Bottomless spritzes, beers, and so many other cocktails.

That’s all.

Bottomless Brunch

My number one recommendation here is the Breakfast Hashes, either the classic or vegan version. I’d keep drinks simple with bottomless Prosecco to go alongside sautéed bacon, chorizo, diced sweet potato, avocado, poached eggs and sriracha. For vegans, bacon, eggs, and chorizo are replaced with red and golden beetroot and goji berries.

Bottomless Dinner

A raspberry ripple cocktail with a ciabatta steak melt…  the steak is tender, served with Monterey Jack cheese and red onion marmalade and house fries seasoned to perfection. Saturday night just got better.

No28

Full bottles of Prosecco & Pink Prosecco accompany dishes specially curated around the Prosecco’s flavours. Brunch begins with a platter of patatas bravas, Mediterranean salad, and artisan bread with olive oil and balsamic. From there, you can choose from plates including char siu glazed sticky chicken, K-BBQ pork belly bites, classic meatballs, and halloumi fries.

Lui’s Bar and Kitchen

For the foodie group who wants to try it all, Lui’s serves not only bottomless drinks, but bottomless small plates. My top choices are the bruschetta classica, potato skins (with garlic mayo), the garlic prawns, and the garlic bread. Can you tell I love garlic? For drinks, Lui’s likes to keep it simple with free-flowing lager and Prosecco.

Jam Jar

Jam Jar in Jesmond is great to take friends and family alike. Their Brunch Burger is a towering monument to flavour, and they seem to be the only place I’ve tried that has a shakshuka and some Romesco eggs on the menu. Their sourdough is from Pink Lane, a local bakery, so it’s always super fresh. The cocktails available with the bottomless brunch change periodically, so worth checking out beforehand.

97  & Social

Sip some Rosé Sangria or a margarita with loaded nachos on arrival, then pick from a selection of tacos. From crispy pork belly with pickled onion and slaw to birria beef with queso and white onion, there’s something for everyone! 97 & Social also has life DJs playing Reggaetón, Motown, House and more.

Motel Mexicana

Motel Mexicana’s bottomless brunch starts as all good things do: with loaded nachos to all tables. After that, my personal recommendations would be the chilli quesadillas or the chicken tacos. On the side, there should be a frozen margarita or tequila punch at all times.

Newcastle is full of great spots to go with friends and/or family for bottomless brunch. There are so many hidden places full of great combos, original cocktails, and the old classics we all love. Another city I would recommend for bottomless brunch is absolutely Manchester. Another student city that knows how to get its party on.
