Overview

Is the University of Wolverhampton right for you?

Wolverhampton is a big, practical, career-focused university spread across the Black Country and Shropshire. Most students are based at City Campus in central Wolverhampton, with architecture and engineering at the striking Springfield campus, a converted brewery nearby. Health, education and sport students often study at Walsall, and some courses run at Telford.

It's one of the more affordable options in this guide. Halls cost £103–£121.50 a week in 2026/27, with all bills included, and there are no application deadlines. The trade-off is that many students live at home and commute, so the campus can feel quieter outside teaching hours. Birmingham is a short train ride away for bigger nights out.
