Is the University of the West of Scotland right for you?

UWS is a modern, career-focused university with four campuses in the west of Scotland and one in London. Its biggest base is in the centre of Paisley, Scotland's largest town, just 10 minutes by train from Glasgow. There are also campuses in Lanarkshire (Hamilton), Ayr and Dumfries, so check which one your course is at.

Many students live at home and commute. If you want halls, UWS only runs them at Paisley and Ayr, but they're cheap, from £98 a week for 2026/27. Glasgow's nightlife, gigs and shopping are easy to reach from Paisley, and Ayr has the seaside on its doorstep.
