Overview

Is the University of Glasgow right for you?

Glasgow is one of the oldest universities in the world, with a famous Gothic campus on a hill in the city's West End. Kelvingrove Park, Byres Road, Ashton Lane and Finnieston are all on the doorstep, so you get cafés, bars, gigs and green space within a few minutes' walk.

It's a big Russell Group university, with nearly 39,000 students and a large international community. Halls are spread across the West End and the north of the city, and many are a 15–20-minute walk or a mile or more from campus. If you want history, a big city and a lively student neighbourhood, it's a great choice.
