Overview

Is Newcastle University right for you?

Newcastle University sits right in the city centre, so lectures, the Students' Union, shops and nightlife are all within walking distance. Most first-year halls are on campus or a short walk away, and the city has a big, friendly student scene.

It's also good value for a Russell Group city. Halls for 2026/27 run from about £118 to £243 a week, with bills included, though most central en-suite rooms cost around £180 to £205. All halls are self-catered, so budget for food. If you want a proper city experience without London prices, Newcastle is a strong option.
